Dhaka: Awami League will launch its election manifesto on Tuesday, ahead of the 11th national election slated for December 30.

AL Assistant Office Secretary Biplob Barua told UNB that Prime Minister and party president Sheikh Hasina will unveil the manifesto at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel here at 10:00am, reports the UNB.

According to sources at AL sub-committee on its election manifesto, Awami League will release a pro-youth election manifesto giving priority to balanced development of the country, quality education and employment opportunities for youth.

According to the leaders, Awami League is focusing on the new voters in this election as they can bring about a major change in the election.

The Awami League sub-committee on its election manifesto, headed by its Presidium member Abdur Razzaque, was assigned to finalise its draft manifesto encompassing issues relating to economic growth and human resource development as its plans to return to power for the third consecutive time.

Other members of the committee included Prime Minister’s Economic Affairs Adviser Mashiur Rahman, PM’s Political Affairs Adviser HT Imam, Premier University Vice-Chancellor (VC) and Awami League Adviser Dr Anupam Sen, former Dhaka University VC AAMS Arefin Siddique and Awami League Organising Secretary Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel.

The source also said the main slogan of the ruling party for the 11th general election is ‘Bangladesh’s road to prosperity’. Its previous slogan was ‘Bangladesh is moving forward’.
