Manjur gets orange, Nasir elephant in Ctg

Chittagong: Awami League-backed mayoral candidate for Chittagong City Corporation (CCC), AGM Nasir Uddin was given ‘elephant’ as his poll symbol while BNP-blessed contestant Mohammad Manjur Alam got ‘orange’ and Jatiya Party-backed candidate Mohammad Solaiman Alam Seth got ‘dish antenna’.
The symbols for CCC election were announced from Muslim Institute, Chittagong on Friday morning.
Moreover, mayoral contender Syed Sajjad Zoha received ‘cricket bat’ and Mohammad Wazed Hossain Bhuiyan got ‘table clock’ as poll symbols.
The symbol allocation procedure will continue till 5:00pm.
In the forthcoming CCC election 12 candidates will fight for mayor post, 213 contenders for general councillor posts and 61 candidates for reserved councillor seats.
The DNCC, DSCC and Chittagong City Corporation elections will be held on 28 April.
