JSC, JDC exams begin; 23 lakh in race
Dhaka: The Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations 2015 began across the country on Sunday with a total of 23,25,933 students participating.
A total of 19,67,447 students from schools and 3,58,486 from madrasas are sitting for the examinations from 28,632 institutions throughout the country in 2627 centers, including eight oversees ones.
A total of 20,90,692 examinees took part in the examinations last year.
Of the total 19,67,447 JSC examinees, 9,14,900 are boys and 1,052,547 girls while of the total 3,58,486 JDC examinees, 1,67,770 are boys and 1,90,716 girls.
Earlier, at a press briefing on Thursday, Education minister Nahid said the government has taken steps to prevent question paper leak in the examinations.
‘There’s no chance of question paper leak. We’ve increased surveillance in the BG Press so that no employee can come out from it with any question paper,’ he added.
