Dhaka: Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Sunday said teachers of Monthly Pay Order (MPO)-listed educational institutions will get salaries and other allowances under the new pay scale announced for the public servants.

The Education Minister came up with the information while talking to reporters at the Ministry on Sunday.

The Education Ministry has issued an order in this regard on Sunday, said Nahid.

According to the order, the MPO-listed teachers will get their salaries and other benefits under the new pay scale which will be effective from 15 July, it said.

On 7 September, the Cabinet approved the new pay scale for government officers and employees raising the monthly basic salary of the Grade 1 public officials to Tk 78,000 (fixed) while the basic pay of Grade 20 employees at Tk 8,250.

On 15 December, the government issued a gazette notification on the 8th pay scale for public servants.
