Dhaka: A group of Dhaka University students on Monday organised a rally on the university campus protesting the filing of a 'false' case against former DU unit president of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Mehedi Hasan Molla.

Witnesses said the students from different departments, and leaders and activists of BCL DU and central committees, under the banner of general students held the rally at the foot of Aparajeya Bangla in the afternoon.

They demanded the withdrawal of the case filed with Sadar Police Station in Madaripur district.

DU BCL President Abid Al Hasan, its central vice-presidents Mehedi Hasan Rony and Sayem Khan, among others, spoke at the programme.
