Madrasa students do well than general boards

Dhaka: The results of this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent examinations published on Sunday morning.
A total of 68.91 per cent students have passed HSC and equivalent examinations this year, which is 5.79 points lower than that of last year.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid formally handed over a copy of the results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at about 10:00am in presence of chairmen of all the boards.
The result shows, 66.84 per cent passed the HSC examinations while 77.02 per cent came out successful in Madrasa Board and 81.33 per cent in Technical Board examinations.
Students under Madrasa Education Board did around 10.18 points better than that of the general education boards.
As many as 33,242 students secured the highest Grade Point Average (GPA-5) this year where as it was 58,276 in 2016.
A total of 6, 44,942 examinees came out successful in the examinations in all the 10 education boards of the country.
The education minister will formally announce the results at 1:00pm at a press briefing.
Tapan Kumar Sarker, examination controller at Dhaka Education Board, said the results will be published simultaneously from respective centre or college and online at 1:30pm.

Institution-based result sheet has to be downloaded through entry of EIIN of respective educational institution from www.dhakaeducationboard.gov.bd.
Students can also collect their results from www.educationboardresults.gov.bd, result corner of www.educationboard.gov.bd and website of respective education board.
The soft copy of the result sheets of centre or educational institution will be sent to the e-mail of respective Deputy Commissioner and Upazila Nirbahi Officer. If necessary, the hard copy of the results can be collected from the offices of Deputy Commissioner and Upazila Executive Officer.
This year, a total of 11.83 lakh candidates appeared for the examinations that began on 2 April. The written tests ended on 15 May while practical tests on 25 May.
