Begum Rokeya University cuts ties with Pakistan
Rangpur: The authorities of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) has decided to cut all academic, professional and research affairs relations with Pakistan.
The decision was taken at the 47th syndicate meeting of the university held on Saturday afternoon with its Vice-chancellor (VC) AKM Nurun Nabi in the chair, a press release said this evening.
In the press release, the VC said that the various disputed activities of Pakistan prove that the country (Pakistan) still does not believe in the existence of Bangladesh, reports BSS.
Pakistan still does not admit their mistakes of committing barbaric atrocities against the Bengali people on this soil during the War of Liberation in 1971 and they have not paid compensation so far.
Besides, Pakistan has been presenting various disputed speeches regarding the war crimes trial being conducted against the war criminals for the crimes they committed against the humanity in 1971, the VC said.
BRUR will have no relations with Pakistan as far as the country admits mistakes for their committed deeds and will not accept any article published in Pakistani journals and no article from Pakistan will be published in any journal of BRUR, the release added.
