98.52pc clear PSC, 92.33pc JSC
The results of this year’s Primary School Certificate (PSC) and Junior School Certificate (JSC) and their equivalent examinations were published on Thursday showing 98.52 and 92.33 pass percentages respectively.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid and Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman handed over the results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her official residence Ganabhaban at about 10:00am.
Sheikh Hasina then formally published the results.
A total of 27,97,274 (98.52 per cent) students out of 28,39,238 came out successful in the PSC and its equivalent Ebtedayee examinations.
The examinations were held in 7,052 centres across the country and in eight centres abroad.
Students in both the categories sat for the examinations on six subjects that carry 600 marks in total.
Besides, a total of 20,98,082 (92.33 percent) JSC and JDC examinees out of 22,72,289 came out successful in the examinations this year.
From the same function, the Prime Minister also inaugurated the textbook distribution programme across the country.
The primary terminal exams for class-V students began on November 22 across the country with 32 lakh 54 thousands and 514 students taking part.
Of the examinees, more than 29.49 lakh students of primary schools took the test, while around three lakh students of madrasas sat for the ebtedai exam.
Class-VIII terminal tests — JSC and its madrasa equivalent JDC examinations — began across the country on 1 November. A total of 2,325,933 examinees from 28,632 educational institutions appeared at the tests.
