CU teachers to observe strike on 4-9 Jan
Chittagong: Teachers of Chittagong University decided to go a 6-day strike from 4 January to realise their various demands, including removal of discriminations in the 8th Pay Scale, retaining selection grade and time scale, says a UNB report.
The decision came from a meeting of Chittagong University Teacher’s Association on Sunday noon.
The teachers of the university will suspend all academies activities from Monday, except the scheduled examinations, said General Secretary of Federation of Chittagong University Teacher’s Association Dr Kazi Kasrul Alam Kuddusi.
Besides, the teachers will go to classrooms wearing black badges from 3 January to 7 January and observe a sit-in programmes on the campus from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Sunday.
Earlier on Saturday, Federation of Bangladesh University Teachers’ Association threatened to go on an indefinite strike from 11 January over the issue.
