Dhaka: A Dhaka University (DU) Festival will be held in Kolkata in December next under the auspices of DU and Rabindra Bharati University, India.

Professor Sabyasachi Basu Ray Chaudhury, Vice-Chancellor of Rabindra Bharati University, and Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman, VC of Dhaka University (DU), discussed the festival arrangement when the former met the latter at his office on Wednesday.

During the meeting, they also discussed the possibilities of strengthening ongoing joint collaborative academic and research programmes being conducted by the two universities.

Prof Ray Chaudhury was accompanied by Prof Aditya Prasad Mitra, Dean of the Faculty of Visual Arts, Prof Ashis Kumar Das, Director of Centre for Bangladesh Studies, Prof Dr Ishani Naskar and Dr Chitta Ranjan Mondal of the same university.

DU Proctor Prof Dr AKM Golam Rabbani, Chairperson of the Department of Dance Prof Rezwana Choudhury Bannya and some other teachers were present on the occasion.
