Nahid urges education officials, teachers to enhance ICT skills

Dhaka: Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Monday urged officials and teachers to enhance their ICT skills for bettering the management and qualities of education system as part of the country’s massive digitisation campaign.
‘Both officials and teachers must acquire technological knowledge to introduce world standard education system in the country,’ he told a function to mark distribution of TAB among senior education officials at the ministry.
The minister asked the officials to ensure optimum uses of TABS they received under a government programme to bring dynamism in the entire education arena for enhanced quality of education.
Nahid said in terms of stakeholders, education sector was the ‘largest family’ with 5.52 crore students and nearly another one crore teachers, officials and employees saying this reality ‘entrusted us with a huge responsibly’ in delivering services.
Education secretary Nazrul Islam Khan, additional secretary Swapan Kumar Sarker and heads of different directorates, among others, addressed the programme.
