JU student suspended over admission test forgery

Savar: A student of Jahangirnagar University has been suspended for his alleged involvement in admission test forgery.
The decision came from an emergency syndicate meeting on Wednesday night presided over by JU Vice Chancellor Prof Farzana Islam.
JU Proctor Prof Tapan Kumar Saha confirmed the matter.
The suspended student is Al Amin, a final year student of Geography and Environment Department and a resident of Bangabandhu Sheikh Muibur Rahman hall.
The university authority took the decision following a written complaint filed with the university proctor office on Tuesday over a fake female student who had been attending the classes without admission since one year.
According to the complaint, Al Amin had assured her (female student) that he would admit her in Journalism and Media Studies Department in the exchange of TK 4.2 lakh. But Al Amin failed to admit her.
On Tuesday, the chairman of the JMS department interrogated the female student as she had no roll and registration number to attend the exam, then she admitted that she had not passed the admission test under 2016-17 academic year and she had been attending classes on the assurance of Al Amin.
The female student was handed over to her family on Wednesday.
A probe body will be formed for further investigation and Al Amin will be handed over to police, said the JU Proctor.
