The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) is a public examinations held in Bangladesh as completion test of higher secondary education. Students of class XI appear in these examinations. Alim is an equivalent examination to HSC for the students of Madrasa Education Board while Technical is another similar examination to HSC and held for the students under Technical board.

In 2018, a total of 1,311,457 examinees from have taken part in the examinations. Of the candidates, 635,697 are male and 547,989 female.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid will hand over the results to the Prime Minister in the morning.

Later, the minister will formally announce the results at 1:00pm at a press briefing.

Tapan Kumar Sarker, examination controller at Dhaka Education Board, said the results will be published simultaneously from respective centre or college and online at 1:30pm.

The candidates will get their results from their respective schools, via online and mobile SMS.
