Students of seven DU affiliated colleges block road
Dhaka: Students of seven colleges affiliated with the Dhaka University (DU) blocked the busy Nilkhet and New Market roads on Tuesday to force authorities accept their demands.
Around 250-300 students gathered at Nilkhet intersection around 10am and formed a human chain, witnesses said, reports the UNB.
But they later blocked the road and halted vehicular movement, leading to a massive gridlock in the area.
The protesters say they want the DU authorities to publish results within 90 days, explain mass failures of students and review exam papers.
They also demand separate administrative building for seven colleges, at least 14 monthly classes by DU teachers, launching of separate academic calendar and crash programmes to cut session jam.
