54,481 get primary education scholarships

Dhaka: A total of 54,481 students obtained scholarships based on the results of the Primary Terminal Examinations held in November 2014.

Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman announced the list of the scholarship holders at a press briefing at the Secretariat on Sunday.

Among the scholarship recipients, 21,983 got scholarships under talent pool while 32,498 others under general category, said the Minister.

The students who got scholarships under talent pool will be given Tk200 per month while the scholarship holders under general category Tk150 for the next three years.

The recipients of both categories will be given Tk150 yearly at a time.  

A total of 23 students from ‘Ananda School’ got the scholarships.
Besides, 60 students with special needs were among the recipients.

In 2013, a total of 54,412 students got scholarships in the Primary Terminal Examinations.
