Symposium on industrial and production engineering held at SUST
Sylhet: A daylong symposium on ‘industrial and production engineering’ was held at the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) on Saturday.
Industrial Engineering and Operations Management (IEOM), Bangladesh, and SUST industrial and production engineering department jointly organised the symposium at the seminar gallery of statistics department at academic building ‘C’.
University’s vice-chancellor Aminul Haque Bhuyan inaugurated the symposium as the chief guest while Mushtaq Ahmed, Applied Sciences acting dean, was present as the special guest.
Keynote speaker of the symposium was Shamsuddin Ahmed from department of mechanical and chemical engineering, IUT, Gazipur.
IPE department chair Abdul Mukid Mukaddes presided over the programme while IEQM-Bangladesh vice‑president Mohammad Iqbal, convener of the symposium Muhammad Mahmood Hasan and IPE alumni association president Abu Hayat Mithu were also present.
It’s worth mentioning that eighteen papers on manufacturing and mechanical engineering and industrial and production engineering were presented in three technical sessions. The technical part also contains a panel discussion on industry-academia collaboration.
