Sylhet: Sociology department of the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) started its two-day reunion programme on Friday.

Several hundred former and present students thronged the campus to celebrate the reunion.

University vice-chancellor Aminul Haque Bhuiyan inaugurated the programme at the central auditorium on the campus at about 10:00am.  

Dhaka university professor Zia Rahman, SUST treasurer Eliyas Uddin Biswas, professor Kamal Ahmed Chowdhury and sociology department chair Jashim Uddin, among others, addressed the programme.

A colourful procession was taken out to mark the day. It was followed by a concert where popular musical band Jaler Gan performed in the evening.
