Edn Instts following foreign curricula must adopt country’s culture, history in their syllabus: Nahid
Dhaka: Educational institutions which follow foreign curricula must include Bangladesh’s culture, heritage, and history in their syllabus, says Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid.
The minister said this while addressing an anti-militancy human chain formed by the National University at the Central Shaheed Minar in the morning, reports UNB.
‘Our students and teachers who are being radicalised must be brought back to normal path through proper education,’ he said.
Nahid also urged guardians to remain alert about changes in their children’s thinking and ideology. ‘It’s not possible to root out militancy through enforcing law only; we need united and efforts of all for doing it,’ the minister added.
Meanwhile, students of different universities and colleges across the country formed anti-militancy human chains on their respective campuses to create awareness against militancy and terrorism.
Thousands of students and teachers took part in the long-hour human chains starting from 11:00am.
Students, teachers and employees of various educational institutions, including Dhaka University, also gathered at the Central Shaheed Minar and on the Dhaka University campus.
University Grants Commission (UGC) chairman professor Abdul Mannan announced the human chain programme at a press conference at UGC auditorium in Dhaka on Sunday.
