DU MCJ department observes 54th founding anniversary
Dhaka: The Mass Communication and Journalism (MCJ) Department of Dhaka University observed its 54th founding anniversary on Tuesday.
On the occasion, a colourful rally, led by DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique, was brought out from the foot of Aparajeya Bangla on the campus in the morning, reported UNB.
Later, a seminar was held at the RC Majumdar Auditorium of the university around 11 am where Prof Dr Sakhawat Ali Khan of the MCJ Department presented the keynote paper.
Presided over by MCJ Department Chairman Prof Mofizur Rahman, the programme was attended, among others, by Chief Information Commissioner Prof Dr Md Golam Rahman as a special guest.
On August 2, 1962, the department started its journey through diploma courses. But now the department is offering undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD degrees.
