JnU students’ demo for residential halls continues
Dhaka: Students of Jagannath University continued their demonstration for the second consecutive day on Monday to press home their demand for constructing residential halls in the now emptied area of old Dhaka Central Jail, reports UNB.
The first year and second year students took position in front of the university at about 10:30am and the demonstration will continue until 1:00pm.
The students demanded building residential halls for them on the land of the vacated Dhaka Central Jail as they are now facing problems to rent apartments in the city as the owners are extra-cautious about renting out to youths on the aftermath of recent militant attacks involving some private university students, noted the protesters.
