Sylhet: A group of teachers of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology have demanded establishment of a sculpture on Liberation War on the campus.

Teachers led by professor Aktarul Islam, convener of ‘Mohan Muktijuddher Chetona O Muktochinta Chorchay Oikkoboddho Sikkhakbrindo’ submitted an application to Vice-chancellor of the university professor Aminul Haque Bhuyan demanding a sculpture on Liberation War to uphold the history and glory of Liberation War on the campus premises.

They also thanked the Vice-chancellor over the setting up of a portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the campus recently.

Among others, Student Adviser and Proctor (in charge) professor Rashed Talukder, Provost of second students hall professor S M Hasan Zakirul Islam, Provost of first ladies hall professor Amina Pervin were present at that time.
