The fifth convocation of Jahangirnagar University (JU) is scheduled to be held on Thursday at the university central playground at about 3.00pm on the campus.

Former chief justice of the country Muzammel Hossain is expected to address the convocation as the convocation speaker with President Abdul Hamid, also the chancellor of the university, in the chair while education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid is expected to attend it as special guest.

The campus has already been decorated with colourful light and turned lively and vibrant with the new graduates registered for the convocation.

Meanwhile, the authority of the university completed distribution of convocation gowns and held rehearsal programme at the central playground at about 4:00pm on Wednesday.

JU Vice-Chancellor professor Farzana Islam, Pro-VC professor Abul Hossain, Treasurer professor Abul Khair and dean of the faculties were present at the rehearsal among others.

A total of 8,558 students will get graduation certificates including Mphil, PhD and MBA degree in the convocation.

Among of them a total of 18 students will receive 23 gold medals for their outstanding results.
