CU suspends six students for attacking opponents
Chittagong: The authority of Chittagong University (CU) suspended six students on different terms for attacking their opponent students on the campus.
Vice-chancellor (VC) Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury issued the suspension order which came into effect from yesterday (Monday).
Proctor of the university Mohammad Ali Asgar Chowdhury informed this at a press briefing at his office this noon, reports BSS.
‘The VC gave the expulsion order under his own power’, the CU proctor said, adding that the expulsion tenure ranged from six months to two years.
The students who were suspendled are Neaz Abedin Pathan of Physics Department under academic session 2012-13, Mohammad Lokman Hossain of Economics Department under academic session 2014-15, Abdullah Al Kaisar of Communication and Journalism Department under academic session 2012-13, Anowar Hossain and Dipro Bonik of the Institute of Fine Arts and Ahmed Ali of Public Administration Department under academic session 2013-14.
Of them, Neaz and Lokman were suspendled for six months each while Kaisar, Anowar, Dipro, and Ahmed Ali were suspended for two years each.
