Rajshahi: Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) authorities on Friday closed the university until 18 November following a clash between two factions of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on the campus.

The decision was taken in a syndicate meeting at about 11:45am, said Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, Vice-Chancellor of the university.

The students have been asked to vacate their dormitories by 3:00pm on Friday.

A student was injured in a clash between two factions of BCL on the campus on Thursday night.

Additional police have been deployed to avoid further trouble.
