Dhaka: Students observed strike in several educational institutions of the country on Tuesday protesting police attack on Students’ Union activists on Sunday.

The strike was called by Bangladesh Students’ Union (BSU).

Students’ Union activists along with activists of some other student organisations on Tuesday gathered at the Dhaka University campus and locked academic buildings of different faculties.

Students’ Union said the exams of the university and the HSC exams were out of the purview of the strike.

Students’ Union president Hasan Tarek said ‘Strike was peacefully observed in several universities of the country.

Police assaulted Students’ Union activists on Sunday when the activists were protesting near the Officers’ Club against sexual harassments of women on the Dhaka University campus during Pahela Baishakh celebration.
