Dhaka: A total of 700 students of 1st & 2nd year of Dhaka University (DU) received Dhaka University Alumni Association (DUAA) scholarship on Thursday.

Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith handed over the scholarships among the students as the chief guest at a programme at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban in the university.

DUAA President AK Azad presided over the scholarship giving ceremony while DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique, Pro-VC (Administration) Dr Akhtaruzzaman, Bangladesh Bank Deputy Director SK Sur Chowdhury were present as the chief guests.

Under this scholarship, the 700 poor and meritorious students will get Tk 1,20,000 in four years.
