Steps taken to maintain consistency in answer script evaluation: Nahid
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Thursday said measures have been taken to ensure consistency while evaluating the answer scripts of SSC and its equivalent examinations.
‘Inconsistency is often seen while awarding marks for the same question awarded to the examinees vary from one examiner to another. Some 2,000 head examiners have been imparted training so that consistency can be ensured in answer script evaluation’, he said.
The Education Minister came up with the remarks while talking to reporters after visiting the SSC examination centre at Government Laboratory High School in the city at 10:30am.
‘Examinees are taking part in the exam with full confidence and the scenario of exam halls is very normal,’ the minister said.
The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations of 2017 began across the country at 10:00am on Thursday, reports UNB.
This year, 17,86,613 students, including 9,10,501 boys and 8,76,112 girls, are appearing in the examinations at 3,236 centres.
Of them, 14,25,900 are appearing in the SSC examination under eight general education boards, while 2,56501 in Dakhil under Madrasah Education Board and 1,4212 in vocational exam under Bangladesh Technical Education Board.
This year, the SSC examinations are being held under creative question papers except Bangla 2nd paper, English 1st and 2nd papers.
The written examinations will end on March 2, while the practical ones will be held from March 4 to March 11.
