Dhaka: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has decided to upgrade the existing BEd course to four-year BEd Honours studying in Government Teachers Training College under the National University.

The decision was taken at a meeting titled ‘Establishing Partnership between Teachers Training College and National University’ organised under Teaching Quality Improvement (TQI-II) Project at the UGC chairman’s office on Tuesday.

Asian Development Bank (ADB) is financing the project while the UGC and National University will cooperate to implement the project.

UGC Chairman Professor Abdul Mannan moderated the programme while UGC members Professor Mohammad Mohabbat Khan and Professor Akhter Hossain, National University VC Professor Harun-or-Rashid, Pro-VC Professor Aslam Bhuiyan, and TQI-II project director (Joint Secretary) Banamali Bhowmick, among others, were present at the meeting.
