DU student gets Begum Suraiya Imdad Memorial Scholarship
Dhaka: Humayra Binte Kabir of Islamic Studies Department of Dhaka University (DU) has been awarded "Begum Suraiya Imdad Memorial Scholarship" for securing the highest CGPA in BA (Hons.) final examination-2015 among female students of all departments under Arts Faculty of the university.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique handed over the scholarship to the recipient as the chief guest at a function at the VC's Lounge of the university.
DU Treasurer Professor Md Kamal Uddin chaired the function while Arts Faculty Dean Professor Abu Md Delwar Hossain, Islamic Studies Department Chairman Professor Muhammad Abdur Rashid and Donor of Begum Suraiya Imdad Memorial Trust Fund Dr Md Muhammad Parvez Imdad, addressed the function, among others.
Professor Arefin Siddique paid tributes to the memory of late Begum Suraiya Imdad who contributed much to spread education in the country.
"Such scholarship would inspire our students to be imbued with humanitarian qualities, the VC added.
