Khasru gets DU Film Society lifetime award
Dhaka: A pioneer of film society movement of Bangladesh Muhammad Khasru was honored with the lifetime achievement award of Dhaka University (DU) Film Society (DUFS).
DU Vice-Chancellor, also moderator of DUFS, Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique on Wednesday conferred the award to Khasru at the concluding ceremony of a five day-long film screening festival organised by DUFS at Teacher-Student Center (TSC) on Dhaka University campus.
Besides, the film 'Sankhachil', produced by Impress Telefilm and directed by Goutam Ghosegot, got 'Hiralal Sen Padak' as the best film in 2016 while actress of the film Kusom Shikder received the award on behalf of Impress Telefilm.
Presided over by the President of DUFS Arif Rayhan, cultural personality Mafidul Haque, film researcher Mainuddin Khaled, Chairman of Jagannath University Film and Television department Jonaed Ahmed Halim and film makers Masih Uddin Shaker and Shamim Akhter were present at the function, among others.
A total of 21 films were screened at the five day-long film festival between February 10 and 14.
