Primary teachers to go for work-abstention
Dhaka: Teachers of primary schools across the country will wear black badges from 6-10 June and observe one-hour work-abstention everyday from 11-14 June to press home their 12-point-demand, reports UNB.
Their major demands include fixing the salary scale of the assistant teachers at one step below that of the headmasters, stopping the direct recruitment of headmasters and ensuring promotions of the assistant teachers to that post.
In a statement on Wednesday, Bangladesh Assistant Primary Teachers’ Society president Shahinur Al Amin and acting general secretary Md Halimuzzaman urged all the primary teachers to make the programmes successful.
They cautioned the teachers not to be misguided or instigated by any quarter and also urged them to continue the movement till the demands are met.
