South Asian University, an International University established by SAARC, announced admission to Masters and PhD programmes for its eighth batch.

To make the admission easier for the candidates, the university authorities have made the application process simpler. It can start with a click and finish off with another as the whole online process is made as user friendly as possible.

While the last date for application at SAU is 25 March, the SAARC-wide entrance test for both Masters & PhD programmes is scheduled for 9 April.

The university provides quota of seats for each SAARC country. Established in 2010, the university now offers Masters and PhD programmes in the areas of Applied Mathematics, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Economics, Legal Studies, International Relations and Sociology. Based in New Delhi, the university is currently functioning from its Akbar Bhawan campus, centrally located in Chanakyapuri. The construction process of the permanent campus of SAU is going on at full swing over a 100 acre area in Maidan Garhi in South Delhi, around 15 km from its present campus.

The student population in this international university is almost entirely made up of students from the eight member nations of the SAARC, about half of them from India and the other half from the rest of the SAARC countries. With academic activities around the year, SAU offers a stimulating academic environment.

South Asian University has a multicultural ambience with students from different backgrounds and culture contributing their bit in making the campus a uniquely vibrant one. Programmes like celebration of International Mother Language Day, Hostel Festival, Art Camps, Art Exhibitions and other cultural activities organised by multiple student societies are regular affair in the campus.

Dr. Kavita Sharma, President of the university said, ‘With SAU gaining more popularity with each passing year, we are expecting more applicants vying for the limited seats in each Masters and Research Programmes. Last year we received some applications from Europe and the Americas and this year we hope to get more applicants applying from other regions of the world.’
