Three students of Dhaka University’s Islamic History and Culture department have received ‘Prof Dr Habiba Khatun Scholarship’ for their outstanding academic results in BA honors examinations.

Awardees are — Khan Mahbub Morshed, Md Sanaullah and Shathi Khatun.

DU vice-chancellor Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique distributed scholarships among the students at the VC’s lounge of the university on Thursday, reports UNB.

Presided over by treasure of DU professor M Kamal Uddin, the function was attended, among others, by DU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman, Dean of the Faculty of Arts Prof Dr Abu Md Delwar Hossain, Chairman of the Department of Islamic History & Culture Prof Md Mahfuzul Islam, donor of the trust fund Prof Dr Habiba Khatun.

DU VC Arefin Siddique congratulated the awardees and urged the students to play an effective role to make Bangladesh a prosperous country.
