DUPS photography exhibition underway at DU
Dhaka: The 10th annual photography exhibition of the Dhaka University Photographic Society (DUPS) in collaboration with the Bangladesh Tourism Board got underway at the DU campus on Friday.
DU Vice Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique inaugurated the three-day exhibition titled "Unity in Diversity” at the Sirajul Islam Lecture Hall of the university.
“We never want to divide our world. But militancy and extremism are separating one from another. Photography can unite the people. Because a photo is stronger than a thousand words,” said Professor Siddique in his Inauguration speech.
Bangladesh Tourism Board director Dr. Bhubon Chandra Biswas, DU Business Faculty Dean Professor Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam also attended the inauguration event.
Some 65 solo photographs and three "photo-stories" of DUPS are being shown in the exhibition. A total of 20 among the solo photographs were snapped in Bhutan, reports news agency UNB.
The exhibition will continue from 7th April to 9th April from 12pm to 8pm. It will remain open to all.
