3 Dhaka University students awarded
Dhaka: Three students of Dhaka University (DU) Mathematics and Applied Mathematics departments received AF Mujibur Rahman Foundation Gold Medal for their outstanding academic results in Bachelor of Science (BS) and Master of Science (MS) examinations.
The awardees are: Md Zasim Uddin and Farhana Akanda Promy of Mathematics Department and Khadiza Khatun of Applied Mathematics Department.
DU Vice-Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique on Tuesday distributed the gold medals among the awardees as the chief guest at a function at Rezaur Rahman Auditorium of AF Mujibur Rahman Ganit Bhaban on the campus, said a DU press release.
Presided over by Mathematics Department Chairman Professor Amulya Chandra Mandal, DU Treasurer Professor Kamal Uddin, Science Faculty Dean Professor MA Aziz, trustee of AF Mujibur Rahman Foundation M Nurul Alam and Applied Mathematics Department Chairman Professor Md Abdus Samad were present on the occasion, among others.
Professor Arefin Siddique thanked the AF Mujibur Rahman Foundation for providing financial assistance in launching the award.
He hoped that the award would encourage the students to flourish their latent talent.
