Girls outshine boys in SSC results
Dhaka: The results of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations published on Thursday morning. This year, a total of 80.35 per cent students have passed the examinations in 10 education boards.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid formally handed over a copy of the results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Gono Bhaban in presence at about 10:00am in presence of chairmen of all the boards.
After publishing the results, Education Minister Nurul Islam said the success rate of this year’s examination is lower than that of last year’s. However, the minister said, the girls outperformed boys in success rate.
In ten education boards, around 14lakh 31,722 passed the SSC examinations. As many as 1,04,761 students secured the highest Grade Point Average (GPA-5) this year.
This year, 17,86,613 students—9,10,501 boys and 8,76,112 girls—participated in the examinations.
Of them, 14,25,900 students appeared in the SSC examination under eight general education boards. Some 2,56,501 students participated in the Dakhil examinations while 1,04,212 students attended in the SSC vocational examinations.
