None from 93 institutions passes SSC
Dhaka: Students of 93 schools and madrasas under eight education boards out of 10 boards failed to come out successful in this year’s SSC and equivalent examinations.
According to the SSC results published on Thursday, the board-wise number of such institutions is 2 under Dhaka Board, 1 under Rajshahi Board, 2 under Comilla Board, 2 under Jessore Board, 2 under Barisal Board, one under Chittagong Board, one under Dinajpur Board and 82 under the Madrasa Board.
The number of schools and madrasas with zero results was 53 last year.
A total of 80.35 per cent students have passed this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations, which is 7.94 percentage points lower than that of last year.
In ten education boards, around 14lakh 31,722 passed the SSC examinations.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid formally handed over a copy of the results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Gono Bhaban in presence on Thursday morning.
The students can get the results from their respective school or it will also be available on www.educationboardresults.gov.bd
As many as 1,04,761 students secured the highest Grade Point Average (GPA-5) this year where as it was 1,09,761 in 2016.
This year, 17,86,613 students—9,10,501 boys and 8,76,112 girls—participated in the examinations.
Of them, 14,25,900 students appeared in the SSC examination under eight general education boards. Some 2,56,501 students participated in the Dakhil examinations while 1,04,212 students attended in the SSC vocational examinations.
