Private coaching to be declared illegal: Edu Minister

Sylhet: Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Saturday said the government has started its process to formulate a new law to stop the private coaching business.
"The government is providing all kind of facilities to teachers but some dishonest teachers are hampering the progress of the country coming to teaching profession," he said.
The minister came up with the remarks while he was addressing a programme as the chief guest at M.C. Academy (Model School & College) in Golapganj upazila of the district.
Nahid said many teachers forced students to come to the coaching centre.
Presided over by the academy managing committee president Sirajul Jabbar Chowdhury, the programme was attended, among others, by its principal Mansur Ahmed Chowdhury, Sylhet district unit Awami League Vice President Amir Uddin Sadek, and deputy director of Sylhet Intermediate and Secondary Education Board Jahangir Alam.
Academy principal Mansur Ahmed Chowdhury delivered the welcome speech while senior teacher Abul Kalam Azad moderated the function.
