Print error-free textbooks: Nahid
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Monday asked all concerned to print error-free textbooks.
‘It’s a huge task to formulate, print and distribute textbooks. All the officials involved in this task must be more careful in this regard,’ he said.
The minister said this while addressing a views-exchange meeting with the National Curriculum and Textbooks Board (NCTB) at its auditorium in the capital, reports UNB.
Nahid said there were some errors in textbooks last year, but all the officials concerned must be careful while printing textbooks so that errors could be avoided this time.
Mentioning that a single error in any textbook may destroy a big achievement of the government, he said the officials concerned will not be able to avoid responsibility if errors are found in textbooks this year.
The Education Minister suggested introducing a monitoring cell in his ministry to properly reach the textbooks to upazila level.
Chaired by NCTB chairman Narayan Chandra Saha, the meeting was addressed, among others, by Secondary and Higher Education Division secretary Md Sohrab Hossain, Technical and Madrasa Division acting secretary Md Alamgir and NCTB member Dr Ratan Siddiqui.
Earlier, Nahid inaugurated an IT cell at NCTB’s office.
