Dhaka: Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Wednesday emphasised the importance of expanding technical education, saying it will be the main strength for building the country's future.

"We must create skilled manpower through technical education for the country's further advancement," he said.

The minister came up with the remarks while exchanging views with the officials of Technical and Madrasah Education Division at Paribahan Pool Bhaban in the city.

He said the enrolment of students in technical education have increased as the government has brought a revolutionary change in technical and madrasah education.

Nahid urged all concerned to work sincerely so that students may have proper technical education and enhance their competence instead of only getting certificates.

He said all the modern subjects, including mathematics, science, ICT and economics, have been introduced in the madrasah education for updating the education system.
