Dhaka University Day today

Dhaka: The Dhaka University (DU) Day will be observed in Dhaka on Wednesday highlighting the theme ‘Higher Education and Sustainable Development’.
The vice-chancellor of the university has given a message of greetings to mark the day and he urged everyone to participate in the programmes, said a DU press release.
Various programmes have been taken on behalf of the Dhaka University which to be held in Campus of the University to celebrate the day.
International Affairs Advisor to the Prime Minister Dr Gowher Rizvi will inaugurate the function attending as the chief guest.
To mark the day, the University and its hall flags to be hoisted at the mall, adjacent of the Administrative building of the university, A rally of students, teachers, officials and employees of DU will be held at the mall and it went to the TSC at about 10:15am.
A discussion also will be held at the Teachers-Students Centre (TSC) auditorium at about 11:00am on the day.
With vice-chancellor (VC) of the University Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique in the chair, a keynote paper titled ‘Higher Education and Sustainable Development’ will be presented by Education Secretary M Nazrul Islam Khan.
Pro-vice-chancellor (education) Prof Dr Nasrin Ahmad, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin) Prof Dr Shahid Akter Hussain, Treasurer Prof Dr M Kamal Uddin will be presented as the guest of honour.
DU’s former Vice-Chancellors, Pro Vice-Chancellors, Emiratus Professors, representatives of the teachers, officials and employees associations will give welcome addresses.
