Sorry for admission seekers' hassle: Edn minister

Dhaka: The time for admission to class XI for the academic session 2015-2016 has been extended by 21 days as the enrollment process hampered for technical glitches.
Education minister Nurul Islam Nahid announced this at a press briefing at his ministry on Sunday.
He said the students who could not get enrolled in any college by the time would be able to get admitted till 26 July without any late fee, and the admission process will be accomplished in four phases.
The education minister also expressed sorrow for the delay in publishing the results of the first merit list and the harassment of students due to technical glitches in website.
He said a total of 9, 23,105 students, out of 11, 56,224, have already completed their admission and the rest of the students will not suffer in any way due to late admission.
The minister said the students who did not get the chance for admission to the institution of their choice or want to change the institution will be able to submit application in 6 July.
Besides, the students who were selected in the first and second merit lists but could not get enrolled will get the chance to apply again on 9 and 10 July. The students will be given five options. The result will be published on 11 July and the admission on 12 July, he said.
Nahid also said the students who have not yet applied for admission will get chance to apply on 12-21 July and their results will be published on 23 July and the admission on 26 July.
The results for class XI admission for the academic session 2015-16 were published on the ministry website on 28 June midnight.
Earlier, the Education Ministry failed to publish the results thrice due to technical fault, which were originally scheduled to be published on 25 June.
