Rajshahi: Islami Chhatra Shibir, the student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, has called a two-day strike at Rajshahi University for Wednesday and Thursday to press home its six-point demand, including the trial of the killers of one of its leaders.

Publicity affairs secretary of RU Shibir Farhad Reza announced the strike through a press release on Tuesday.

The statement claimed that Shibir leader Shahabuddin was shot to death after being brutally tortured by law enforcers.

Shahabuddin, information secretary of the university unit Shibir and a Masters’ student of Crop Science and Technology Department, was killed in police firing while throwing crude bomb on law enforcers on February 5, police claimed.
