DU halls, student buses to be brought under Wi-Fi facilities
Dhaka: All residential halls and student buses of Dhaka University (DU) will be brought under Wi-Fi facilities within next 15 months.
Mobile phone operator Robi Axiata Limited will provide the Wi-Fi facilities which will enable the students of the country's premier university to connect internet free of cost, a DU press release said on Sunday .
To this end, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Dhaka University (DU) and Robi Axiata Limited was signed on Saturday at the Business Studies Faculty conference room of the university.
DU Treasurer Professor Md Kamal Uddin and Chief Operating Officer of Robi Axiata Limited Mahtab Uddin Ahmed inked the MoU on behalf of their respective institution.
DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies Professor Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam and other faculty members were present on this occasion.
The DU vice-chancellor thanked the Robi Axiata Limited authorities for signing the MoU and said students will enjoy e-library facilities at their own dormitories by this initiative.
He urged the students to make themselves as global standard graduates using the Wi-Fi facilities properly. ‘You will have to equip yourselves with moral values for achieving goals,’ he added.
