Dhaka: The fourth merit list of students for admission to class-XI for the academic session of 2015-16 was on Thursday.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid announced the list at a press briefing at the secretariat in the morning.

“There were 82,544 applications in the fourth phase, and all of them have been allowed for admission,” said the Education Minister.

“At least 2 lakh seats are vacant. Those failed to get enrolled in any college can apply for admission again till August,” said the minister.

He mentioned that said a total of 11, 76, 107, out of 12, 82,618 admission seekers, have already completed their admission.

On June 29, the first merit list for college admission for the academic session 2015-16 was published on the ministry website.

A total of 11.56 lakh students applied for admission as college enrollment based on results of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations for the last few years.

The new online college admission procedures drew criticisms as students faced many technical difficulties while applying.
