Pass in tests mandatory to sit for public exams

Dhaka: The Education Ministry on Monday issued a circular saying that the students who will pass in the tests of their respective institutions will be allowed to sit for the public examinations.
The Ministry issued the circular cancelling its previous circular published on 1 March which said that students who failed in the tests of their own educational institutions but have 70 % class attendance will be allowed to sit for the public exams.
Signed by senior information officer of the Education Ministry, Muhammad Saifullah the circular added that if the failed students are allowed to sit for the public examinations, the examinees’ attention to their study may be hindered and the importance of taking preparation to appear in the test examinations may decrease, resulting in a negative impact on the public examinations results.
However, if any student failed to take part in tests due to sickness, accident or any natural disaster, the concerned educational institutions can consider the matter on the basis of his/her academic records and class activities, the circular added.
