Dhaka: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Dhaka University (DU) and Asian Institute of Medicine Science Technology (AIMST) of Malaysia was signed on Tuesday at the DU VC's office to promote education and research activities.

DU treasurer Professor Dr Md Kamal Uddin and Medicine Faculty Dean of AIMST University Professor Dr. P.K Rajesh signed the MoU on behalf of the respective institutions.

DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique, Science Faculty Dean Dr Md. Abdul Aziz, Medicine Faculty Dean Professor Md. Ismail Khan, CARS Director Professor Dr Altaf Hussain and AIMST University Senior Lecturer Dr Kazi Selim Anwar were present, among others, on the occasion.

According to the MoU, DU and AIMST University will jointly conduct teaching and research activities, degree programs and initiative to introduce credit transfer programs.

They will also organize mobility, staff development and internship programme for developing skills of both staffs and students. DU VC thanked the AIMST university authority for signing MoU and hoped that this initiative would enhance the quality of education and research.
