Dhaka: Twenty students from various departments of Dhaka University (DU) have been awarded ‘Nurul Islam Memorial Trust Fund’ scholarship for their outstanding academic performance.

Dhaka University vice-chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique distributed scholarships among the students as chief guest at a function held on Sunday at the Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of the university.

The recipients Selim Rana, Abdullah AL Noman, Asif Ahmed, Paddashri Roy, Amit Sarkar, Obayedul Haque, Rubel Hossain, Mamunur Rahsid, Kamrul Islam, Sumon Pradan, Fazle Rabbi, Suchita Sarkar, Sikder Hasib Reza, Shamsunnahar, Raminul Islam Rifat, Mirza Ashiq, Subarna Mursheda, and M Sazzadul Islam.

DU Treasurer Professor Kamal Uddin presided over the function while Member of the Trusty Board Poet Ruby Rahman addressed it as special guest. DU Acting Registrar Syed Rezaur Rahman conducted the programme.

DU VC AAMS Arefin Siddique urged the scholarship recipients  to make themselves worthy citizen by utilizing their merits properly.
