World University team meets President
A delegation of World University of Bangladesh, led by its Vice Chancellor professor Abdul Mannan Choudhury, made a courtesy call on President Abdul Hamid on Sunday.
During the meeting at Bangabhaban, the delegation apprised the President, also the chancellor of the university, about its academic activities, President's press secretary Ihsanul Karim said.
They said the university now has 5,500 students in its 10 departments with almost half of them are girls.
The delegation also informed the president that the university gives 50% tuition-fee waiver to girl students to inspire them in higher education.
Abdul Hamid underscored the need for imparting quality and time-befitting education in the country’s institutions of higher studies.
