Dhaka: The official Facebook page of Dhaka University (DU), as its authentication, has received verified mark by the Facebook authority.

Some pages and profiles are verified by Facebook putting a blue badge next to the page or profile name to let people know that they are authentic.

The DU students along with teachers celebrated the achievement by cutting a cake at the residence of the DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique last night.

On the occasion, the VC said now everyone can get the true information about the university from the DU FB site as it is verified. From now the fake pages related to the DU can be identified easily, he added.

Chairman of Mass Communications and Journalism and advisor of DUTIMZ Professor Rashedur Rahman and founding President of DUTIMZ Abul Hasnat Sohag were present, among others.
